 In the mexican culture we usually do things that for the rest of the world can sound strange, for example, the use of lemon for all the food, the use of salsa is another good example, it´s a custom that we have since pre-Hispanic times. Among some of the strange things that we do with customs that exist around the world is the famous bite on the birthday cake, a tradition that most families tend to follow even thougt ist origin is not very well known. The tortilla, one of the essential parts in the basic alimentation of the mexicans familys, exixting since pre-Hispanic times, is one of the things that is not as common in the rest of the world as it is in Mexico, the majority of mexicans they usually added as the main part of the dish, such as toast, quesadillas, etc...
